Rotations no longer coincide with calendar months but rather 2 or 4 week blocks.
Clinical duties in the emergency departments will consist of shift work. In the intensive care units and pediatric inpatient medicine, overnight call will be assigned every fourth night. Fellows will take home call on the toxicology rotation. Trauma surgery will consist of a night float schedule.
Fellow work hours will be fully compliant with ACGME duty hour regulations.
Fellows are given 3 weeks of vacation per year.
Moonlighting
Moonlighting is allowed with the approval of the program director after the first Clinical Competency Committee meeting. By ACGME mandate, moonlighting hours must be reported and included in calculations of total work hours; the sum of fellowship program and moonlighting hours must not exceed 80 hours/week.
